Where is the relationship between SIDMAC Engineering & Manufacturing and KONIG Brewing Systems?

KONIG Brewing Systems is a brand of brewing equipment manufactured by the operating entity, SIDMAC Engineering & Manufacturing.

How long has the KONIG team been building breweries?

Our team has been designing, manufacturing, and installing breweries since 1990. Throughout this time, we have strived for continuous improvement to ensure our equipment is state of the art.

If I want to start or expand my brewery, what information does KONIG need in order to provide me with that support?

We would require information regarding brewery size, or the desired amount of beer production required annually. With this information, KONIG can specify the equipment, utility and space requirements leading to a brewery system proposal.

What does the process of working with KONIG look like?

After the purchase agreement has been finalized, KONIG will assign you a project manager who would be your main contact from order placement to the final installation. They will begin the initial step of generating a Process and Instrumentation Diagram as well as a brewery layout. The following step would be creating equipment drawings for client review and approval. At this point, your PM will keep you informed on the progress of the manufacturing process. When your brewery is completed, it will undergo factory acceptance testing at the KONIG plant, which you will be invited to witness. Finally, our shipping department will work with you to get the equipment to your site.

What does the installation process look like in terms of KONIG’s service?

KONIG installation process involves four main steps:

    1. The initial step involves the arrival of KONIG’s technicians on site to position the brewhouse vessels and reassemble the platform and piping.
    2. Now that the brewhouse is assembled, the client will need local trades to connect the required utilities to the brewhouse
    3. Once utilities are connected, KONIG’s electrical technicians will go to site and perform the electrical/automation commissioning. This step may not be necessary for smaller manual systems.
    4. The final step includes KONIG’s brew-master starting up the system and performing water brews as well as actual brews. This is done with the client as a means of training to operate their new equipment.
What kind of large- and small-scale projects has KONIG worked on in the past?

On the large-scale front, we have manufactured brewhouses that are 120 bbl in size and cellar vessels up to 800 bbl. In terms of smaller scale projects, for both brewhouses and cellar vessels, we have done 1-2 barrel pilot systems and everything in between.

Does KONIG have a standard product line?

KONIG has standard sizing for its brewhouses and cellar vessels, but we do not stock vessels according to a specified product line. All equipment is manufactured to order specifications and client requirements. We can customize all equipment to meet spatial restrictions.

What is the scope of equipment that KONIG can supply?

KONIG provides complete brewing solutions beginning from malt silos up to and including bright beer tanks. We also serve related industries such as distilling, wineries, cideries, kombucha, RTD’s and seltzers.

    Bringing knowledge & expertise.

We had a strong belief that Konig could help us complete this project, and that the end result would be great. The number of companies that do this work (at this size) is small. Konig was the clear choice.
